Ministry of Care
Posted on May 15th, 2010
Who We Are
A group of approximately fifteen men and women who want to help members of our parish stay spiritually connected to SS. Cyril’s but for various reasons, those parishioners are unable to attend mass. We have completed six weeks of “ministry of care” training. We find this ministry very rewarding.
What We Are About
Bringing the Body of Christ to the homebound. Also, keeping the homebound of the parish connected with the happenings of the church.
What We Do
We take communion, bulletins, etc. to the homebound every Sunday morning and make them feel that they continue to be a part of our parish. We send cards for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. We organize the Annointing Mass and luncheon. We serve at the local nursing home.
Who We Serve
We serve anyone needing communion brought to them, both long and short term, within the local church boundaries. The most common comment received by a Minister of Care is “Thank you for caring and continuing to remember me.”
When We Meet
We meet the fourth Thursday of January, April, July, and October besides the monthly Sunday morning delivery.
We Welcome
Anyone interested! With the number of homebound increasing/decreasing weekly, new members are always welcome.
