SUBJECT: Attn: Homer Glen families regarding bus service

Attn: All Homer Glen families..

To SS. Cyril & Methodius family,

Randy Zezulka and I, Scott Fries are S.S. Cyril & Methodius parents
residing in Homer Glen. We are attempting to gather information to
determine the feasibility of contracting a bus company on a private
basis to provide service for non-residents.

As you are aware, the school district of Lemont only provides bus
service to students within the 113A district. There are
approximately 70 families registered at S.S. Cyril that reside
outside of the Lemont 113A district. Non-resident families represent
25% of the school and the vast majority resides in Homer Glen. Many
of you have expressed an interest in pursuing a privately contracted
bus service. This service would be paid for privately by parents and
is not associated with any SS Cyril tuition or fees currently paid.

In order to calculate an estimated cost, we need to provide as much
information to potential bus companies as possible. One can
understand the difficulty in determining cost unless the number of
students is estimated. A ballpark number of students are required in
order to calculate the number of buses needed, overall insurance
costs and the logistics for the most efficient pickup/drop-off
locations and routes/times over a fairly large area.

We realize how difficult it is to provide any interest level without
a better understanding of cost. Nonetheless, we are contacting you
to determine, at a realistic cost level, how many families might be
interested.

We are intent on pursuing the most cost-effective deal, however
without any better detail we have estimated that the cost will run
approximately $650-$1,000 per student with possibly some discount
for families with multiple children. This estimate is a very general
calculation based on preliminary quotes of $180-$200 per bus per
day. Using 180 calendar school days for the year, the total cost for
1 bus ranges from $32,500-$36,000. The cost per student above is
then calculated by estimating the number of students to between 35-
50 per bus.

Please contact us at Scott.fries@morganstanley.com or
r_zezulka@hotmail.com if you are interested in pursuing a private
bus service.
If there is enough interest, we will proceed with the bus companies
to determine cost and logistic feasibility. The next step would be a
meeting for all those interested to discuss options and answer
questions. In the meantime, if you have any questions please contact
either one of us.

Sincerely,
