Youth Ministry
Who We Are: The Youth Ministry Program has been in place for
nearly 2 years. It is under the direction of Youth Minister Ms. Diane
Herman, who coordinates programs and activities for the youth of the three
Lemont Parishes (SS. Cyril & Methodius, St. Alphonsus and St. Patrick.). Ms.
Herman depends heavily on the volunteer efforts of the youth, their parents
and other interested parishioners for various events and projects.
What We Are About: The Youth Ministry was created to address the
needs of the tri-parish youth and to provide a method to involve this group
in parish life and to encourage continued spiritual growth. Our Youth
Ministry uses a curriculum that comes from the US Catholic Bishops’ Youth
Ministry Principles.
What We Do: A look at the most recent Bulletin will bring you up
to date on upcoming activities. Meetings and some activities are divided
into Junior High (this group is sometimes further divided into 6th grade
only, and combined 7th and 8th grade) and High School youth. The Teen Center
is located in St. Patrick’s old convent. Day trips, sports teams, Scripture
Study, CORE meetings, and Generations for Life, contemporary Masses, and
mission trips are all offered, along with other activities and projects
throughout the year.
We Meet on a regular basis, as well as for specific programs and
activities—come as often as you like, and bring a friend!
We Welcome all junior high and high school youth in the Lemont
community to be a part of our youth group, as well as adult parishioner
volunteers to help with various activities on an as-neededbasis.
