Shirley Tkachuk
Parish School Principal
I am starting my ninth year as the Principal of SS. Cyril and Methodius Parish School, along with my thirty-seventh year in Catholic education!
Working in a Catholic school has given me a great deal of joy. I have had the opportunity to work closely with children, their parents and other educators to teach not just the basics, but also the importance of learning and living our faith on a daily basis in everything we do.
I was born and raised in Chicago. I received my B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois and my M.A. in Administration and Supervision from St. Xavier University.
My husband and I still live in the parish where I was raised and attended school, St. Daniel the Prophet. We enjoy spending time with family and friends, gardening, and travel.
